System hangs at "Calibrating"

#1

Hello,

the good thing is we just received the dev kit. The bad thing is we are looking at the distance marker calibration screen for more than 30 minutes and nothing seems to happen.

The keyboard is operational and the device is connected to the internet (via cable).

We kindly ask for suggestions to make the system run.

Kind Regards
Marc

Hi, @itemkg!

Thank you for your message.

Could you please provide the device ID so that we may further check the issue of the error? It should be on a sticker on the side of your device that says LDK**** (e.g LDK1000).

Once we have that, we’ll get back to you tomorrow at the latest with a resolution.

Respectfully,
Dan

#3

Hello @dbalaban,

thanks for your reply. During startup it says LDK1080. I’m going to attach the photo of the sticker.

Marc

#4

The logs say that the camera didn’t start working.

#5

@Aciolino The camera did, in fact, start successfully. The only issue present in the provided logs is related to depth calibration.

@itemkg We’ve checked to see whether there was cause for an RMA, and it looks like it isn’t the case. We’ll include a patch in the upcoming update (end of this week, early next week at the latest) to address this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

#6

@dbalaban
thanks for the information. We are looking forward to the upcoming update. Please keep us informed about the upcoming update.

Thanks
Marc

#7

Same for me (LDK1033)!

#8

@JackBerry No need for an RMA in your case either. We’ll let you know when the update with the fix is live (shouldn’t be long now). If there’ll be any further issues afterwards, we’ll go over the logs to get an idea of what’s happening and go from there.

#9

Thanks. Meanwhile the pairing does not work either. I have a LAN cable in but the question is: should pairing work pending the calibration?

#10

Hi @JackBerry,

The pairing process should be working once it displays the area in which you should place your QR Code. Does your network require additional browser authentication? Is the network accessible by other devices?

If the pairing process is still not completing and you are sure that the device is online, please access the endpoint <ip_address_of_your_Lampix>:8888/logs and post your error logs here.

#11

Ok, tx. I am on a personal wifi network working perfectly (50 MB up/down) with only standard authentification. Leaves me with (only) 3 main questions:

  1. I do not think I got to see the ‘QR area’. Any picture how that looks like?
  2. How would I know the device is online? It goes through the boot and then stays in calibration remember. There is a LAN cable in to bypass the wifi for now
  3. How to access the logs if I do not get beyond the calibration? Or should we first get that settled?

Tx - Sjaak

#12

Well pointed out. The pairing process starts after the calibration step for any unpaired device.

Logs are already accessible at the calibration step via a web server exposed on the local network that you can access from any device in the same network as Lampix via http://<lampix-ip>:8888/logs.

Here’s a screenshot of the pairing app:

This is the log info of one run (same for every start/stop cycle). Any clue or suggestions?

Hi @JackBerry,

First of all, let me apologize on behalf of our team for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
We are aware of this problem and it was fixed. The fix will be released with Lampix 2.1.3 update (you can find the release notes here: [TO BE RELEASED] Lampix 2.1.3 release notes ). We will be pushing the update early next week and it should take care of your problem.

I will make sure to let you know when the update is released.

Best regards,
Vadim

This issue has been fixed with Lampix 2.1.3.

#16

Hi - issue was fixed. Took a couple of reboots and it ‘works’ now. However: most handles (buttons or whatever these are called now) seem inaccurate and slow to respond. More calibration needed or other tips perhaps? Tx

#18

Hi @JackBerry,

Pleased to know that your issue was fixed!

Regarding the buttons: we recommend using Lampix in a well-lit environment, using a white surface. The setup described should provide the best experience.

#19

Thanks. Here’s my setup. Don’t want to paint my wooden desk  Most Lampix videos also present a natural table…But will try. Any suggestions as to how may Lumen are best?

#20

Lampix performs best in environments with 100-150 LUX.
